A pair of Ford factories near Detroit will add 170 jobs during the next two years as the carmaker opts to build battery pack and gas-electric hybrid transmission assemblies in Sterling Heights and Ypsilanti Township, Mich., facilities.
The company plans to invest $135 million this year and next. A federal grant will cover approximately half the cost of the operations.
